In The Kaleidoscope, our podcast, we created an interpretive chain that started with this quote:
“The creation of 1000 forests is one acorn.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
The quote was given to Billy Hoff who created a painting. His painting was given the Kate Taylor who wrote a song. The song was given to dancers, Alison Manning and Jesse Keller Jason, who created a dance. The dance was given to Elise Paschen, who wrote a poem. The poem was given to Matt Cosby who created a photograph. The photograph was given to Christian Thornton who prepared a delicious salad.

We have see what each step in the chain has inspired in the next artist, but we want to know how it inspires you. Our monthly challenge started in October with the catalyst quote, and we received some awesome interpretations. For November we have posts Billy Hoff’s painting and are asking you to play a game of essences with it, create, and upload.
If the painting were a sound, what would it be? If the painting were a person, who would it be? A scent? A time of day? A type of weather? A food? A place? A movement?
Ask these questions about the artwork that will be upload for the following months as well. Have fun! Can’t wait to get the Kaleidoscope shifting again! https://consenses.wpengine.com/monthly-challenge/
