Max Gerber took his first pictures as a college freshman because he couldn’t draw and needed an extra class to qualify for student health insurance. His first paying gig came several years later. Since that first $50 gig, Max’s client list has grown to include TIME, People, Forbes, Businessweek, LA Magazine, Village Voice, and Merrill Lynch. His book, My Heart vs. the Real World was published in 2008. Photographs in context makes him happy, “A picture is worth a thousand words, but an extra thousand words never hurts.” Max lives in LA with his wife
and a small bobcat.
